A PLAGUE TALE
CONCEPT LEVEL DESIGN
A Plague Tale: Innocence is an action adventure horror stealth game developed by Asobo Studio and published by Focus Home Interactive. It was released in May 2019, and received generally positive reviews from critics.
The game offers an immersion in Guyenne (France) of the fourteenth century, in 1348, when the Hundred Years War and the Black Death ravaged the population. The player plays Amicia, a teenage girl from a noble family suddenly cut off from her roots and tasked with protecting her younger brother, a sickly and disconnected child named Hugo, from the clutches of the Inquisition.
ABOUT THE CONCEPT
This concept was realized with a friend following a lesson given by Damien CIOCCA, Level Designer at ASOBO.
Based on this concept we decided to imagine a new protagonist who accompanies Amicia in her quest. My teammate Martin PEREZ took charge of Designer this new character so that I could create a level design concept to stage it.

A really interesting experience that disrupted my usual way of designing my levels. This time in addition to starting from a well-defined Game Design I also had to pay attention to the scenario. Because A Plague Tale is a very scripted game which depends a lot on the story it tells the player.
In this way the flow of my level is punctuated at times by real-time cinematics (RTC).
A great project that I would do for other games!
