ABOUT THE PROTOTYPE

The Drunken Dwarf is a student prototype made during our second year of apprenticeship in a video game school.

 

A project carried out in 15 days.

 

With this game, we wanted to come up with a concept that would go beyond simple tower defense. So we designed a play space where the player can navigate freely and sit at a table to play different mini-games. Due to production time, only the tavern's HUB and the tower defense were made. If we had more time to develop this concept, surely we would have considered adapting it to VR to make the experience more immersive and make the controls more fun in the tavern.

WHAT DID I LEARN ON DRUNKEN DWARF 

The Drunken dwarf has been a particularly inspiring game for me as a level designer. He made me realize the importance of opening my design to a wider scope by imagining the integration of mechanics dedicated to new technologies to make the gaming experience richer.

In addition to that thanks to this projects I was able to realize the importance of the economic design in a game, particularly the balancing... Not easy for a tower defense.
